Ragi ladoo are delicious ,healthy and nutrient dense ladoo made up of jaggery ragi flour,nuts and coconut.
These ragi ladoo or nachni laddu make a amazing snacks for toddlers,kids and women .this ladoo is rich in calcium and protein loaded with iron so very healpful for anemic people.I use to make these ladoo lot of time for my family and its really amazing
Red millet or finger millet is known as ragi,Nachni in Marathi.These tiny grains are powerhouse of the nutrients.and used in most Indian food specially in south Indian food.There are few ladoo recipe for which one should have experience with string or ball consistency.These ladoo recipe i learn when shifted to south India as south Indian people are using more ragi in their diet.These ladoo will surely help teenagers as well as small toddlers and kids in strengthening their bone improving hemoglobin.This is quick recipe of ragi ladoo.You need to remember while makind these ladoo is to roast ragi very well.if it is raw it causes stomach ache.These ragi ladoo we can store for a week at room temperature.This recipe you can make with sugar also but making with jeggery is best option as it improves nutritional quality.
HOW TO MAKE RAGI LADOO STEP BY STEP
- Take half cup of dry coconut (grated) and dry roast it.
- Take some dry fruits and one tsp ghee and roast it and remove in a plate.
- Then in pan add 1 cup ragi flour I took plain ragi flour instead of that you can use sprouted ragi flour.and 2 tbsp ghee till it turns aromatic.once it become aromatic add 1/4 cup melted ghee .and roast it again for few minutes. and remove in one plate.
- Take 2/3 cup of grated jaggery in a pan 1tsp ghee and 2 tbsp water .and allow to melt jaggery.
- Once jaggery melts switch off the flame and add all ingredients together. and mix them all properly.
- Remove in a plate and 1 tsp cardamom powder mix well all ingredients again and when it is hot that time only take small portions of mixture and roll them to ladoo
- Avoid complete cooling of mixture.
- Store ragi ladoo in airtight airtight jar and moist free hands
Variations of ragi ladoo
You can add sesame seeds,peanuts and desicated coconut to whatever you desire but total proportion of these should be 3/4 to one cup of every ragi flour.

- In case your mixture become cold while rolling ladoo add 1 tbsp milk again make it hot and mix well and when mixture is hot roll ladoos that time only
- Roast ragi very well otherwise it can cause stomach ache if it is raw.
