with detailed photo and video recipe an interesting and flavored rice recipe made with coconut and jaggery the rice is typically made in Maharashtra during the celebration of narali poornima or full moon day .It is extremely simple and easy to make and may not necessarily be made during the full moon it can be served at any occasions.
I have lived in Maharashtra . So this is our traditional Maharashtrian recipe. Narali rice is my favorite one recipe.
  Sweet coconut rice can be consumed like a snacks. I could highlight some suggestions and tips for narali Bhat . It can be  made with almost all types of rice.
   It has to be non sticky and easily separable so better to prepare with basmati rice or Sona Masoori this is best combination of rice jaggery and coconut you can serve it as a snacks or a dessert

Narali Bhat recipe/Maharashtrian sweet coconut rice recipe

Easy narial bhat recipe / Maharashtrian sweet coconut rice
Ingredients
 1 tablespoon ghee
 10 - cashew
1 cup- jagerry
1cup -coconut grated

Other ingredients
2 TSP -ghee
3pods -cardamom
3cloves/lavang
1inch cinnamon/dalchini
1cup basamati rice,soaked for 20min
1cup water
Few saffron/kesar
Salt as per taste
1/4 TSP cardamom powder
instructions:
1. In large kadhai heat 2tbsp ghee.and saute 3pods cardamom ,cloves,1inch cinnamon until it turns aromatic
2.Now add one cup of basamati rice.(soaked for 20 minutes) and saute for a minute.
3.Add 2 cup water , saffron and salt as per taste.
4.Mix well and cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until rice is cooked well.
5.In another pan heat 1tsp ghee. Roast 10 cashew and raisins and turn it golden brown
6.Further add 1 cup jaggery and 1 cup of coconut.
7.saute on low flame until jagerry melt and combine well .
8.Make sure the coconut jagerry mixture have turned aromatic.
9.Further transfer the coconut jagerry mixture into cooked rice and mix gently
10.Cover and simmer for 5 min 
11.Finally 1/4 TSP cardamom powder
And your narali bhat is ready to serve.
How to make narali bhat step by step

1.Firstly in a large kadhai heat 2 tbsp ghee and saute 3 pods cardamom,1inch cinnamon until it turns aromatic

2.. Now 1cup basamati rice soaked for 20 min and saute for a minute

3.Add 2cups of water ,few saffron and salt as per taste

4.Mix well cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until rice is cooked well .

5.In another pan heat 1tsp ghee and roast cashew until it turns golden brown.

6.Add 1cup jaggery and 1cup coconut

7.saute in low flame until jaggery melt and combined well.

8Make sure that coconut jaggery mixture turned aromatic.
9.further transfer coconut jaggery mixture into cooked rice and mix gently.
10.Cover and simmer for 5 min until flavor are absorbed well

Notes
  • Ambemohat rice we can use instead of basamati rice 
  • Make sure that roasted nuts and rice in ghee to gets flavors.
  • Narali bhat tasted great when prepared with fresh coconut.
