MATHRI RECIPE


 Mathari is popular tea time snacks in north India which is enjoyed with tea.This recipe we can make at home with very few ingredients. Which is available easily at home only. We prepared this mathari from all purpose flore.

INGREDIENTS OF MATHARI

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp  crushed peppercorn
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds
  • 1tsp cumin seeds
  • 3 tsp ghee
  • one pinch red chilli
  • one pinch chat masala 
  • salt as per taste
  • 3tbsp water
  • 1tsp corn flour and 1tsp ghee
HOW TO MAKE MATHRI

STEP 1

  • Mathri is also called Matthi has along shelf life which makes it as a popular indian snacks.It is easy to prepare if you know how to add ingredients in correct amount.To make this snacks take a large bowl and take 1 cup all purpose flour (125gm).
  • add 1/2 tsp crushed peppercorn
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds
  • 1tsp cumin seeds 
  • salt as per taste
  • 3tsp ghee and mix well by rubbing in your tumb and fingers till everything is incorporated very well.as we r adding ghee in mathri it makes Mathri very crispy and crunchy. at this stage if you press together into palm it should come together like a crumbly dough.
  • STEP 2
  •  Now at this stage add 3tbsp water little by little and make a tight dough.we should not add more water as it will make dough soft.Cover the dough with a cloth and keep at one side for 15 minutes
  • STEP 3
  • After 15 min make 2 portions of dough and roll roti as thin as possible.
  • Take a bawl and make a mixture of 1 tsp ghee and one tsp corn flour and mix it well.
  • Apply this mixture on roti which we roll.Spread mixture uniformly.
  • and make airtight roll of roti.Now cut that roll into small potions.and roll small poori from that.
  • apply corn flour ghee on that poori also and make rumali fold of that
  • Once fold is done take a fork and prick with fork form both side 
  • once enough mathri you roll heat oil for deep frying 
  • Make sure that oil should not very hot. Temperature of oil should low to medium .Maintain oil temperature by adjusting gas.
  • Deep fry the mathris and drain excess oil. It is important to slow cook on low flame so mathris can cook till deep inside.
  • STEP 4
  • When mathris are hot add pinch a red chilli powder and chat masala on mathti so masala will stick to mathri very well.
  • once mathris are cooled completely store in a airtight container and searve with one hot cup of tea
